The Boy Scout Handbook states "The Scout uniform is a symbol of the BSA. It tells others that you are a Scout and represents Scouting’s history of service to the nation and the world. Wearing uniforms allows Scouts to show that they are equals and that they share values and beliefs. Your uniform is also a sign that you are a person who can be trusted and that you will lend a hand whenever help is needed. Dressed as a Scout, you will want to act like a Scout.”
Likewise, we as leaders need to lead by example. We should not have expectations of our scouts, which we do not expect of ourselves. Thus, during our Court of Honor, my hope (and my request) is that we (leaders) are dressed in our adult class A uniforms and that we wear them during any meeting at which we require our scouts to be in Class A uniforms. This is particularly important if you are working with scouts. We are their examples.
