Here are a few guidelines/suggestions to keep in mind during the popcorn season. I am probably missing something. Let me know if there is anything we should add:

SHIFT SELECTION

1. You can pick up to 5 shifts during your first initial shift picking (we will let know when more shifts can be selected) Slots are for single scouts (If you want to sell with another scout let me know and I will modify that time shift to accommodate it).

2. If you miss one without notice the rest of your shifts will be canceled. If you are going to miss one, just take care of things ahead of time (kinda like canceling any appointment)

MISSING A SHIFT

The best thing to do (in this situation) is to cancel at least 24 hours in advance and get on Discord and see if another scout can take your spot. If they cannot, have your parent or guardian contact Mr. White or Mrs. Low and let them know (there is no penalty for taking this approach).


BEFORE THE SHIFT

1. Make sure you can log into the app.

2. Charge your phone.

3. Put on your Class A uniform. Class A uniforms are the only acceptable uniform for wearing at a  storefront or wagon sale.

4. Make sure you have small bills or at least some money to change for cash transactions.

5. Make sure you have a table and table cloth and an idea of how you want to set up your table.

6. Load the popcorn in the car and head to the storefront with your parent or guardian.

7. Do a count of popcorn you have to make sure it is the same as is shown in the app (remember that you are responsible for any missing or damaged product. In fact, make sure the popcorn matches in the app with the amount you pick up from Mrs. Low.

8. See the storefront description/instructions. Some outdoor slots allow for a canopy tent.

9. Bring water/drinks for the shift (keep them off the table though during the sale).


DURING THE SHIFT

1. Be there ahead of time for your shift (in order to set up)

2. Use the Trails End app (record every transaction)

3. Record donations.

4. Have your parent or guardian Call Mr. White at 317-696-4028 with any problems

5. If there is another unit there who says they have the shift have your parent or guardian call me, Mr. White at 317-696-4028 as soon as possible. This situation should not occur.

6. Be sure to thank the store manager or representative for allowing us to sell popcorn there.


AFTER THE SHIFT
1. Be sure to thank the store manager or representative for allowing us to sell popcorn there.

2. Make sure that the amount of popcorn you have matches the amount the app says you have (remember that you are responsible for any missing or damaged product.

3. Do not leave popcorn in your car. The heat can damage the product and cause the bags to open and unless you really like that flavor of popcorn you do not want to have to pay for it. Get it into the air conditioning.

4. Bring remaining popcorn and cash/checks to Mrs. Low on the dates for popcorn pickup from the attached calendar (same as sent from Mrs. Low in a previous email).

5. Thank your parent or guardian for taking you to sell popcorn.
